McCarthy and Wong are the right choice

November 2, 2023

Election Day is quickly approaching, and I encourage you to join me in voting for Ana Duarte McCarthy and Lily Wong for Bernards Township Committee. During the past few months, I have had the honor of getting to know these two women, and I have been so impressed.

Their many personal and professional accomplishments are impressive, but what is most impressive is their desire to make a difference. Ana and Lily are passionate about our community.  They have spent hours getting to know the residents of Bernards Township and listening as our neighbors have talked about what worries them, and about all the opportunities that are available to us. Lily and Ana understand our concerns about overdevelopment and will be proactive in considering the best way to maintain our quality of life and prohibit warehousing and overdevelopment.  They understand that being fiscally responsible means finding new sources of revenue, like grants, and they will aggressively pursue those opportunities. They also understand that a thriving local business economy benefits all of us, and they will work with local businesses to help keep our community vibrant.

Perhaps most importantly, Lily and Ana want us to be safe and to enjoy our community. Whether that means considering how emergency services can best be provided to the community, looking at ways to keep pedestrians safe, or making sure our roads are repaired, they are willing to work hard to ensure our community is one we can all enjoy. Their willingness to listen, even when they may not agree with what is being said, means our opinions will matter. They value the diversity we see in our community, and they know that helping each of us connect with our township and our neighbors means a better quality of life for all of us.

Lily and Ana understand that good ideas come from many places – and they are not afraid to hear what we have to say.

If you believe your voice should be heard, if you want our community to thrive, and if you want a Township Committee that is responsive and open, you should vote for Ana Duarte McCarthy and Lily Wong.
